RESUMEN: La presente investigación busca describir el índice de variedad onomástica (IVO) de documentación histórica escrita en Santa Fe de Bogotá, Virreinato de Nueva Granada, entre los años 1805 y 1810. Al calcular el IVO, entendido como la distribución de nombres propios diferentes que se asignan a una población determinada, se puede identificar cuantitativamente el cambio en el uso de los nombres durante una época o proceso documental histórico determinado; y esto indica cambios en los referentes socioculturales, al tener en cuenta que los nombres popularizados durante determinada época son reflejo de estos referentes. La metodología utilizada se inspira en la implementada por San Martín (2021a, 2021b), por lo que se realizó una clasificación por grupos etarios, sexo y composición del nombre, y en cada una de estas se realizó el cálculo del IVO. Se concluyó que durante los 45 años estudiados se observa una tendencia a la disminución del IVO, pasando de 0.78 en 1765 a 0.15 en 1810; además se ve una tendencia al incremento de los nombres compuestos, que inician representando el 39.4% de los nombres totales y finalizado representando el 56.6% de los nombres totales. |

The IVO, understood as the distribution of different proper names assigned to a specific population, allows for the quantitative identification of changes in the use of names during a specific era or historical document. These changes reveal shifts in sociocultural references, considering that popularized names in a period reflect those references. The methodology used by San+ Martín (2021a, 2021b) was replicated in this research. First, the corpus was divided into age groups, by sex, and by onomastic composition; then, within each of these classifications, the IVO was calculated. It was concluded that over the 45 years studied there was a tendency in the IVO to decrease, going from 0.78 in 1765 to 0.15 in 1810.
