RESUMEN: Esta monografía presenta un marco normativo, literario y de experiencias que hace alusión a la promoción de la salud y las herramientas que permiten se enriquezca la evolución de su teoría y práctica. Objetivo: analizar el abordaje del empoderamiento para la promoción y cuidado de la salud en las comunidades y por el talento humano en salud en el contexto del sistema de salud colombiano. Metodología: se realizó una revisión bibliográfica de publicaciones científicas con palabras claves definidas, recopilando la información por medio de una matriz de búsqueda que clasificó los artículos objetos de la investigación y finalmente se realizó el análisis de experiencias por medio de entrevistas a diferentes profesionales de la salud. Conclusión: La promoción de la salud es una estrategia que impacta positivamente la salud de las personas y crea condiciones para que poblaciones e individuos potencien las capacidades y aumenten el control de sus vidas, pero se ve apañada por determinantes sociales que aún no son abarcados de manera integral para la efectividad de sus acciones. |

Objective: to analyze the approach of empowerment for the promotion and care of health in communities and for human talent in health in the context of the Colombian health system. Methodology: a bibliographic review of scientific publications with defined keywords was carried out, compiling the information through a search matrix that classified the articles object of the research and finally the analysis of experiences was carried out through interviews with different health professionals.
