We show that Keynes’s theory is, at the same time, a theory of relative prices and a theory of the price level.RÉSUMÉ: Cet article a pour objet la question du rôle des prix dans la théorie monétaire de Keynes. Il s’agit notamment de montrer un aspect présent dans le chapitre 21 de la Théorie Générale: la démonstration de l’existence d’un mécanisme de prix relatifs. Le niveau d’emploi apparaît déterminé à la fois par la demande effective mais aussi par les prix relatifs. On obtient ce résultat à partir de la théorie keynésienne des prix selon laquelle un accroissement de la quantité de monnaie provoque une modification de la structure des prix relatifs par l’intermédiaire de la demande effective.
