RESUMEN: La presente monografía se realizó por medio de una rigurosa búsqueda bibliográfica en revistas indexadas en español, inglés y portugués, con la que se pretende identificar las estrategias de afrontamiento del adolescente con cáncer y su familia y la manera de potenciarlas a través del cuidado, para ayudar a la adaptación durante el proceso de enfermedad. Se encontró que el adolescente con cáncer y su familia utilizan como estrategias de afrontamiento el apoyo social, el cual es brindado por la familia, los amigos, los adolescentes con la misma situación de enfermedad y el personal de salud; además el mejorar la apariencia física, la búsqueda de información y los recursos diversos como la distracción, los pensamientos positivos y la espiritualidad-religiosidad. Dado que existen pocas investigaciones sobre las estrategias de afrontamiento del adolescente y su familia desde la disciplina de enfermería, se recomienda que en otros niveles académicos como maestrías y doctorados ahonden temas como la espiritualidad y religiosidad, teniendo en cuenta la singularidad de la población adolescente por encontrarse en una etapa de transición del ciclo vital. |

Was found that adolescents with cancer and their families used as coping strategies, the social support which is provided by family, friends, the teens with the same situation of disease and the health carers; In addition to the information received, improve the physical appearance and various resources as distraction, positive thoughts and the religiousness - spirituality.
