| Summary: | ABSTRACT : Concrete environmental structures are specifically designed to store and treat fluids to prevent the spread of contaminants. These structures require special properties such as high durability and waterproofing to liquids and gases. Water tanks, considered environmental structures, must also withstand additional pressures, known as hydrodynamic forces, generated by the water. These forces are divided into impulsive and convective forces, which act simultaneously on the water tank walls. The analysis of these forces is based on a hydrodynamic model that explains the seismic behavior of water. Once the hydrodynamic force analysis is complete, the structural design must ensure that the tank meets the required durability and strength, within the parameters specified by the structural codes forsuch structures. This report outlinesthe analysis of hydrodynamic pressures and identifies the main parameters that affect these forces in water tanks. It also presents the structural design of a specific water tank for the NEOM The Line project. The design follows ACI 350-20, which defines the requirements for environmental structures, and ACI 350.3-20, which defines the seismic design criteria for such structures. |
