RESUMEN: El siguiente documento presenta los resultados de la investigación realizada en torno a los factores que caracterizan la vida personal, social, familiar y económica, de una mujer cuidadora informal. Se realizó una investigación con un enfoque cualitativo, inicialmente se hizo un rastreo bibliográfico en donde se encontró que a las mujeres se les ha asignado históricamente las labores de cuidado, y de otro lado que no existen en Colombia políticas públicas para el cuidador informal. Se realizaron entrevistas a cinco mujeres cuidadoras informales en donde se pudo evidenciar las implicaciones que tiene esta labor en los diferentes aspectos de su vida, destacando el aspecto social como el más afectado. Posteriormente, se hizo el análisis de la información, tomando como referencia autores que han abordado el tema desde la perspectiva de las ciencias sociales y del desarrollo humano, finalmente la investigación permite concluir que se hace necesario diseñar programas orientados al fortalecimiento y protección del bienestar de las cuidadoras informales con un enfoque integral. |

A study was carried out with a qualitative approach, initially a bibliographic search was made where it was found that women have historically been assigned care tasks and on the other hand that there are no public policies for the informal caregiver in Colombia. Interviews were conducted with five informal women caregivers where it was possible to demonstrate the implications of this work in the different aspects of their lives, highlighting the social aspect as the most affected.
