En este artículo se analiza el impacto del contexto sociopolítico en las expresiones artísticas juveniles en Yarumal entre 1986 y 1996, un periodo en el que la presencia paramilitar transformó la percepción del hogar y la identidad local. A partir de la interpretación de fuentes documentales, prensa y testimonios orales, se examina cómo la nostalgia, un sentimiento profundamente arraigado en la comunidad, se transformó a partir de la ruptura en la estructura de seguridad y la llegada de nuevos modelos económicos y políticos al territorio. A pesar de la precariedad y la represión, la creatividad persistió como una herramienta de reconstrucción identitaria. Sin embargo, la nostalgia que permea estas expresiones artísticas deja entrever una incertidumbre latente sobre el futuro del municipio y su juventud. En este contexto se establece un diálogo entre un “pasado clásico” y la realidad paramilitar, con el propósito de identificar qué tipo de nostalgia predomina en la juventud yarumaleña, rastreando los cimientos de la identidad del pueblo para comprender cómo se ha manifestado la nostalgia mediante diferentes espacios culturales y de qué manera ha permeado el sentido de pertenencia por este lugar. |

En este contexto se establece un diálogo entre un “pasado clásico” y la realidad paramilitar, con el propósito de identificar qué tipo de nostalgia predomina en la juventud yarumaleña, rastreando los cimientos de la identidad del pueblo para comprender cómo se ha manifestado la nostalgia mediante diferentes espacios culturales y de qué manera ha permeado el sentido de pertenencia por este lugar.This article analyzes the impact of the sociopolitical context on youth artistic expressions in Yarumal between 1986 and 1996, a period in which the presence of paramilitary groups transformed the perception of home and local identity. Through the interpretation of documentary sources, press materials, and oral testimonies, the study examines how nostalgia, a deeply rooted sentiment within the community, was reshaped by the rupture in security structures and the arrival of new economic and political models in the region. Despite precarious conditions and repression, creativity persisted as a tool for identity reconstruction. However, the nostalgia that permeates these artistic expressions reveals an underlying uncertainty about the future of the municipality and its youth. In this context, a dialogue emerges between a “classical past” and the paramilitary reality, aiming to identify what type of nostalgia prevails among Yarumal’s youth.
