The second contentious issue refere to the idea that for the cognitive therapies the cause of human behavior and emotions is just the thiking process. The third controversial issue originates on the false idea that cognitive therapists disrespect their patiens by imposes their criteria on them. For the discussion of the fourth contentious issue it is showed as untrue that the cognitive therapies forget human beings non-rational aspects, and that they do not pretend to turn humans into cold and logical processors of information. |

En el primero de ellos se cuestiona las concepciones que sostienen que las terapias cognitivas son solo una técnica de restructuración cognitiva que pertenece a la terapia o a la modificación de la conducta, y que por lo tanto no tiene un modelo teórico ni una metodología propia. En el segundo, que la causa del comportamiento y de las emociones es el pensamiento. En el tercero, se concluye que no es cierto que el terapeuta cognitivo irrespete al paciente porque le impone sus criterios.
