RESUMEN: La migración voluntaria es un fenómeno global con profundas implicaciones sociales. En la Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA) en Medellín, un significativo número de estudiantes proviene de distintas regiones del país. Este estudio se enfocó en cómo la relación con el nuevo entorno y la transformación del vínculo socioespacial, resultante de la migración, pueden transformar la salud mental de las mujeres universitarias. Desde el semillero de psicología social y ambiental, se identifica la necesidad de explorar la relación entre las personas y los lugares que habitan. Este análisis buscó comprender cómo las mujeres migrantes experimentan la apropiación de nuevos espacios en la ciudad y en la UdeA. Los resultados del estudio a partir de sus trayectorias de migración y la apropiación del nuevo lugar a donde llegan, permitieron identificar que la experiencia migratoria de las estudiantes no solo implicó desafíos previos a la decisión de migrar, sino también durante su proceso de adaptación a la vida universitaria y urbana. En este contexto, la Universidad de Antioquia actuó como un espacio facilitador de socialización, pertenencia y construcción identitaria. La vinculación socioemocional con los espacios universitarios y urbanos fue clave para que las participantes resignificaran su experiencia migratoria, encontrando en la UdeA un lugar de integración y desarrollo personal. Este proceso destacó la importancia de los espacios universitarios como catalizadores de bienestar emocional y fortalecimiento de la identidad en estudiantes migrantes. |

At the University of Antioquia (UdeA) in Medellín, a significant number of students come from different regions of the country. This study focused on how the relationship with the new environment and the transformation of the socio-spatial bond, resulting from migration, can transform the mental health of university women. From the seedbed of social and environmental psychology, the need to explore the relationship between people and the places they inhabit is identified. This analysis sought to understand how migrant women experience the appropriation of new spaces in the city and in the UdeA. The results of the study based on their migration trajectories and the appropriation of the new place where they arrive, allowed us to identify that the students' migratory experience not only involved challenges prior to the decision to migrate, but also during their process of adaptation to the university and urban life. In this context, the University of Antioquia acted as a facilitating space for socialization, belonging and identity construction. The socio-emotional connection with university and urban spaces was key for the participants to redefine their migratory experience, finding in the UdeA a place of integration and personal development.
