RESUMEN: El presente artículo trata sobre las fiestas en el Nuevo Reino de Granada entre 1700 y 1757. El enfoque de la primera parte serán los discursos la normativos, tanto civiles como religiosos, que pretendían disciplinar la fiesta, hacerla un momento de celebración dirigida a legitimar el poder y el orden que dichos discursos querían imponer en el mundo. Para tal propósito se usarán las constituciones sinodales como fuente primaria principal del discurso religioso y desde lo civil documentos generados por la élite colonial para exponer cómo dichos poderes pretendían imponer su orden del mundo y manifestar su poder jerárquico. La segunda parte del artículo hablará sobre cómo la realidad rompía con los discursos normativos del orden, cómo el mundo festivo se convertía en un momento de transgresión y de libertad, de romper con las reglas establecidas que la cultura oficial pretendía imponer, para tal propósito se usarán fuentes en que se censuraban o se denunciaban los desordenes existentes en los momentos de fiesta. |

The focus of the first part will be the normative discourses, both civil and religious, that sought to discipline the festivity, making it a moment of celebration aimed at legitimizing the power and order that these discourses wanted to impose on the world. For this purpose, the synodal constitutions will be used as the main primary source of religious discourse and, from the civil point of view, documents generated by the colonial elite to expose how these powers intended to impose their world order.
