RESUMEN: Objetivo: Analizar la normatividad vigente que promueve la lactancia materna en Colombia, a la luz del reconocimiento de las mujeres que lactan, y contrastarla con la realidad que enfrenta este grupo poblacional. Materiales y métodos: Se hizo un análisis temático y de discurso a cuatro normativas que en Colombia promueven, protegen y apoyan la lactancia materna. Por otro lado, se realizaron once entrevistas semiestructuradas a mujeres en periodo de lactancia pertenecientes a la Fundación Amigos de Jesus y Maria. El análisis de la información se desarrolló por triangulación, codificación abierta y axial. Resultados: La normativa presenta poca coherencia e integración respecto al reconocimiento de la mujer lactante, y su importancia se da principalmente por lo que ella representa en el binomio madre-hijo. Frente a la percepción de las mujeres entrevistadas, se identificaron 2 temas y 5 subtemas: atención diferencial entre la mujer en etapa de gestación y lactancia, y la alimentación de la mujer que lacta, una dimensión poco abordada. Conclusiones: La normativa analizada carece de reconocimiento integral de la mujer lactante, lo que se refleja en la falta de atención y garantía de sus derechos y necesidades. |

Materials and methods: A thematic and discourse analysis was made of 4 regulations that promote, protect and support breastfeeding in Colombia. On the other hand, 11 semi-structured interviews were conducted with breastfeeding women belonging to the Amigos de Jesus y María Foundation. The analysis of the information was developed by triangulation, open and axial coding. Results: The regulations present little coherence and integration with respect to the recognition of breastfeeding women, and their importance is mainly due to what they represent in the mother-child binomial. About the perception of the women interviewed, 2 themes and 5 sub-themes were identified: differential care between pregnant and breastfeeding women, and the feeding of lactating women, a dimension little addressed.
