RESUMEN: El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la relación entre habilidades cognitivas, burnout y desempeño laboral en trabajadores de una universidad colombiana. Para ello, se aplicaron tres instrumentos: el Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) para medir el burnout, las subpruebas de retención de dígitos y matrices del WAIS-IV para evaluar las habilidades cognitivas, y una prueba de percepción subjetiva del desempeño laboral. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 27 trabajadores de la Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, sede Medellín. Los resultados indicaron que los participantes reportaron bajos niveles de agotamiento y cinismo, con una media de 23,05 y una desviación estándar de 15,76 en la variable de agotamiento. En cuanto al desempeño laboral, se identificó una percepción positiva de la competencia, el compromiso y la congruencia entre tareas y expectativas. Las habilidades cognitivas se ubicaron en un nivel promedio, destacándose una tendencia hacia el límite inferior en memoria de trabajo y razonamiento. El análisis de correlaciones reveló que la percepción de competencia está asociada positivamente con el desempeño y negativamente con el cinismo, mientras que el compromiso mostró una relación negativa con la memoria de trabajo. No se encontró evidencia de una relación directa entre el burnout y las capacidades cognitivas. Estos hallazgos sugieren que, aunque el burnout no afecta directamente las habilidades cognitivas, la autopercepción de competencia y compromiso desempeña un papel clave en el desempeño laboral, destacando la importancia de intervenciones que fortalezcan estas variables en entornos organizacionales. |

For this purpose, three instruments were applied: the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey (MBI-GS) to measure burnout, the digit retention subtests and matrices of the WAIS-IV to assess cognitive skills, and a test of subjective perception of job performance. The sample consisted of 27 workers from the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Medellin branch. The results indicated that the participants reported low levels of burnout and cynicism, with a mean of 23.05 and a standard deviation of 15.76 in the burnout variable. Regarding job performance, a positive perception of competence, commitment and congruence between tasks and expectations was identified. Cognitive skills were at an average level, with a tendency towards the lower limit in working memory and reasoning. Correlation analysis revealed that perceived competence is positively associated with performance and negatively with cynicism, while commitment showed a negative relationship with working memory. No evidence of a direct relationship between burnout and cognitive abilities was found.
