description RESUMEN: Los estudios sobre el concepto de comunidad han estado influenciados por diferentes escuelas de pensamiento que le han dado significado de acuerdo con los contextos globales. En este sentido, la pregunta por los sentidos comunitarios como construcciones diversas, simbólicas e históricas que constituyen las cosmogonías de las comunidades en su diversidad permite enriquecer la teoría y la práctica comunitaria, aportando de manera ampliada a la deconstrucción de procesos de intervención hegemónicos y coloniales. En sentido profesional desde el Trabajo Social, lo comunitario precisa de la reflexión constante por la formación, la intervención y la investigación como una oportunidad para reconocer en la interculturalidad, nuevos y enriquecedores campos de conocimiento que cuestionan las herencias coloniales de la academia y fortalecen formas otras de conformación, organización, lucha y resistencias de las comunidades.
