RESUMEN: El análisis parte de un argumento central: si bien los estudios sobre prácticas mágicas han aumentado en comparación con épocas anteriores, todavía existen numerosos aspectos que requieren mayor atención, complejidad, matices, replanteamientos e incluso, se identifican varios vacíos historiográficos importantes. En este sentido, surge la necesidad de una revisión crítica y profunda que permita avanzar en la comprensión de estas prácticas en su contexto histórico y cultural específico. Los balances historiográficos ofrecen una guía crítica y prospectiva sobre un campo conformado por diversas líneas de estudio, siendo una fuente relevante para investigar los planteamientos, presupuestos, métodos, discusiones, avances, falencias y retos dentro de un ámbito determinado. En este sentido, esta investigación se presenta como un balance historiográfico de los estudios sobre prácticas mágicas realizados en los últimos 50 años, sin pretender abarcar todos los autores o perspectivas, sino más bien destacando algunos de los principales diálogos y desafíos en este campo de estudio. |

In this sense, the need for a critical and thorough review is proposed to advance the understanding of these practices in their specific historical and cultural context. It is for this reason that historiographical balances allow for a critical and prospective guide on a field composed of different lines of study, being a relevant source for the investigation of the approaches, assumptions, methods, discussions, advances, shortcomings, and challenges within a certain field.
