Esta revisión no procura profundizar acerca de las teorías y planteamientos presentados por Hirschman, sino mostrar, en parte, el panorama bajo el cual este se desarrolló y dar ciertos criterios con la intención de abstraer las motivaciones por las cuales este prestigioso economista se adentró en las ciencias económicas y logró dejar un legado que hoy día es pieza fundamental en el estudio de la economía y la sociedad.
