En general, llama la atención el amplio desarrollo del estudio científico en psicoterapia con niños en Europa y Estados Unidos, frente a la baja producción al respecto en Latinoamérica. |

This field has been historically in the shadow of research in psychotherapy with adults. Therefore, the proposed review has the intention of contributing to the scarse available information in Spanish language, on the evolution of child psychotherapy research. Historical and contextual antecedents are included, as well as exploration of future paths of research within this field.
