RESUMEN: El presente informe de investigación es de tipo cualitativo, realizado con algunas mujeres que han habitado el establecimiento carcelario y penitenciario pedregal de Medellín, incluyendo mujeres ex-presas, abogadas y personal penitenciario. Por medio de sus discursos se logra analizar las experiencias del habitar la cárcel para cada una y permite reconocer los posibles puntos de convergencia entre ellas, las relaciones con ellas mismas, con otras mujeres y las acciones del sistema penitenciario. Comprendiendo las experiencias de estas mujeres desde un enfoque de género, éste trabajo permite reconocer cómo se aplica en el contexto penitenciario, dando paso a categorías emergentes como las relaciones de poder arraigadas a la carga histórica patriarcal que afecta estructural, personal y socialmente, haciendo necesario visibilizar y dignificar las historias de estas mujeres. Resaltamos que en la exploración del sistema penitenciario, en éste contexto investigativo emergen categorías importantes como el bienestar de las mujeres y el apoyo tanto familiar como gubernamental, relacionado con aspectos como: la importancia de implementar un enfoque diferencial en el contexto penitenciario que garantice los derechos tanto a las mujeres reclusas, como al personal penitenciario y abogadas; además la necesidad de poner en marcha desde el Trabajo Social medidas de formación e intervención para propiciar un ambiente de autorreconocimiento, dignificación y horizontalidad |

Through their speeches it is possible to analyze the experiences of living in prison for each one and allows us to recognize possible points of convergence between them, the relationships with themselves, with other women and the functions of the penitentiary system. Understanding the experiences of these women from a gender perspective, this work gives us the chance to recognize how the gender approach is applied in the penitentiary context, giving way to emerging categories such as power relations rooted in the historical patriarchal burden that affects structurally, personally and socially, making visibility necessary and dignify the stories of these women.
