RESUMEN: Este artículo pretende describir algunas de las situaciones que tienen que enfrentar centro y suramerica por la incursión de proyectos extractivistas en sus territorios, a través de una revisión documental que se enfocó principalmente en categorías como violación de derechos humanos, contexto latinoamericano, tratado de libre comercio y su relación con la minería. Las características del contexto territorial que enfrenta hoy en día el centro y sur de América tras la incursión de proyectos mineros en sus naciones, tal como se pudo evidenciar, se encuentran enmarcadas por una alta incidencia de violación de los derechos humanos de los habitantes de cada una de las naciones, especialmente de comunidades minoritarias como el caso de los indígenas, afroamericanos y campesinos; el desarrollo de este tipo de economía, ha generado la afectación de las relaciones y lazos socio afectivos de cada uno de estos territorios, tras las presiones empresariales y gubernamentales por implantar este tipo de industria. Como se pudo apreciar, se carece de mecanismos internos propios de los diferentes países que se enmarcan en esta parte del continente para dar garantía a la defensa territorial, esto se evidencia en la nulidad que representa la consulta previa al momento de ser aplicada, y las garantías que se enuncian en los tratados de libre comercio para las multinacionales. |
