En el desarrollo, se destaca la necesidad de modificar la normativa que permite el matrimonio infantil; el trabajo expone la experiencia de la reforma legislativa de México que prohibió el matrimonio para menores de 18 años, siendo un modelo para Colombia al visibilizar que dicha problemática no se agota con la expedición de una norma jurídica. Por último, se concluye que, para mitigar la problemática, es necesario implementar acciones que involucren el sector educativo, la familia, la sociedad y el Estado. |

It begins with a presentation of the background, followed by an analysis of the decision adopted by the Constitutional Court in Decision C-507 of 2004 from the model of "legal trialism", within the framework of qualitative methodology. In the development, the need to modify the regulation that allows child marriage is highlighted; the work exposes the experience of the legislative reform of Mexico that prohibited marriage for minors under 18 years of age, being a model for Colombia by making visible that this problem is not exhausted with the resolution of a legal norm.
