Este hecho se transformó en un relato mítico que cobró sentido dentro de la estructural cultural de las y los amalfitanos, convirtiendo en héroes a los hombres que se enfrentaron con el tigre, a través de la tradición oral y, más adelante, por medio de la tradición escrita. Más tarde, en el 2012, vuelve a presentarse este suceso, pero ahora la reacción de las personas de Amalfi fue diferente, porque hubo un rechazo a la matanza del tigre, a causa de los discursos sobre conservación ambiental presentes en el S. XXI. Más allá de argumentar sobre lo correcto e incorrecto de las dos situaciones, el objetivo de este trabajo de investigación es indagar por qué la historia del tigre de Amalfi es un medio por el cual las y los amalfitanos construyen sus narrativas identitarias. Por esta razón, este fenómeno social se dividió en dos: pasado y presente, aunque sólo sea una medida práctica para la metodología porque durante la lectura de los capítulos se verá que no hay una frontera delimitada entre las mitades. Finalmente, podrá observarse que cada de estas partes está cargada de características culturales en las cuáles se basan las construcciones identitarias. |

Its protagonists were a feline and some hunters who for three years were immersed in a chase that ended with the death of the animal. This event became a mythical story that made sense within the cultural structure of the Amalfitans, making heroes of the men who confronted the tiger, through oral and, later, written tradition. Later, in 2012, this event happened again, but now the reaction of the Amalfitans was different, because there was a rejection of the killing of the tiger, due to the discourses on environmental conservation present in the 21st century. Rather than arguing about the rightness or wrongness of the two situations, the aim of this research work is to inquire why the story of the Amalfi tiger is a means through which Amalfitans construct their identity narratives. For this reason, this social phenomenon was divided into two: past and present, although this is only a practical measure for the methodology because during the reading of the chapters it will be seen that there is no delimited border between the halves.
