Se estudia el contexto histórico, el periodo llamado por la historiografía como la República Liberal durante el cual transcurrieron los hechos, y se enumera una serie de razones por las que la campaña dejó de ser viable y que finalmente llevaron a la capitulación de Uribe Echeverri en favor de Alfonso López Pumarejo quien llegaría a la presidencia.

The municipality of Rionegro shows its birthplace as traditionally liberal, and residence of the candidate during this effort.
