RESUMEN: El territorio local en torno al que se realiza esta investigación es el municipio de Yarumal, el cual está ubicado en la subregión norte del departamento de Antioquia, como parte de sus características más determinantes, Yarumal ha sido destacado por ser la cuna de artistas como Epifanio Mejía, nombrado el “poeta triste” o el “loco Mejía, Benjamín de la Calle, reconocido fotógrafo del que se conservan aproximadamente cinco mil negativos; y Francisco Antonio Cano artista que con sus obras participó en exposiciones nacionales en las cuales ganó reputación por ser pintor de flores y bodegones, y quien más tarde pintaría “Horizontes”, obra reconocida que hoy forma parte de la colección del Museo de Antioquia. Tras realizar diversos acercamientos a la administración municipal se evidencia que no existe una relación directa entre ellos y los jóvenes artistas del municipio, la normatividad se encuentra desactualizada y no es de fácil acceso, debido a esto es de suma importancia caracterizar a los artistas jóvenes de Yarumal con el fin de que las administraciones municipales tengan la información suficiente para integrarlos en su plan de gobierno. Palabras clave: Expresión artística, jóvenes, cultura, caracterizaciónABSTRACT: The local territory around which this research is carried out is the municipality of Yarumal, which is located in the northern subregion of the department of Antioquia, as part of its most determining characteristics, Yarumal has been highlighted for being the cradle of artists such as Epifanio Mejía, named the “sad poet” or the “crazy Mejía, Benjamín de la Calle, renowned photographer of whom approximately five thousand negatives are preserved; and Francisco Antonio Cano, an artist who with his works participated in national exhibitions in which he gained a reputation for being a painter of flowers and still lifes, and who would later paint "Horizons", a recognized work that today is part of the collection of the Museum of Antioquia. After making various approaches to the municipal administration, it is evident that there is no direct relationship between them and the young artists of the municipality, the regulations are outdated and it is not easily accessible, due to this it is of the utmost importance to characterize the young artists of Yarumal so that municipal administrations have enough information to integrate them into their government plan.
