RESUMEN: El objetivo de la presente investigación es comprender los significados de la paz en líderes sociales que impactan la población de territorios colombianos, se parte desde un enfoque interpretativo, proceso que comprende la realidad social a través de pautas de comportamiento e interacciones simbólicas, este enfoque oscila entre los hechos y su interpretación, convirtiéndose en un proceso circular y no lineal. La investigación se llevó a cabo con 9 lideres sociales de los municipios de Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Nariño, Antioquia, y Putumayo; se utilizó la entrevista semiestructurada como técnica de recolección de datos. Los resultados pretenden dar cuenta de la forma en la que los líderes construyen el significado de la paz, vinculado al contexto al cual pertenecen, se observó que los significados construidos durante la trayectoria de los líderes se transforman en lo sucesivo de la experiencia y las interacciones, al momento de desarrollo de la investigación convergen elementos de la paz positiva y la paz negativa, así, el significado de la paz de los líderes sociales se asocia con la satisfacción de necesidades básicas, el desarrollo de potencialidades, la justicia social y los derechos humanos, a su vez, admite la existencia de la violencia y el conflicto armado. |

The research was carried out with 9 social leaders from the municipalities of Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Nariño, Antioquia and Putumayo; the semi-structured interview was used as a data collection technique.
