Aedes aegypti is the most important vector of Colombia and has shown that ecological flexibility, allows it to be adapted to different breeding sites, domiciliary and outdoors as buckets, pocetas, tanks, holes in trees, etc. OBJECTIVE To estimate the amount, positivity and productivity of Aedes aegypti deposits found in Santa Rita, Belén Rincón, Robledo Aures and París. MATERIALS AND METHODS We sampled 420 houses in four neighborhoods, searching for positive deposits of larvae and pupae of Ae. aeygpti between 2008 and 2010. We have quantified the number of breeding sites and we have performed a descriptive analysis and a non-parametric method to determine productivity. RESULTS There was found a difference among the deposits over the four districts. The most abundant deposit in the four districts was the pocetas. There was not significant difference found, between the productivity of the deposition of Santa Rita and Belén Rincón. There was found a significant difference between Robledo Aures and Paris’s deposits with a p<0.05, being the most productive tires and tanks respectively. CONCLUSIONS The amount, positivity and productivity of the deposits in the four districts had a different behavior, which indicates, that the dynamics of each district has to be known in order to establish the most indicated policies about the vector control. Aedes aegypti es el vector más importante para Colombia y ha mostrado una flexibilidad ecológica tal, que le permite adaptarse a diferentes sitios de cría domiciliarios y extradomiciliarios como baldes, pocetas, tanques, huecos en árboles, etc. OBJETIVO Estimar la cantidad, positividad y productividad de los depósitos para Ae. aegypti encontrados en diferentes barrios de Medellín y Bello. MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS Entre 2008 y 2010 se muestrearon 420 casas en cuatro barrios en busca de depósitos positivos para larvas y pupas de Ae. aeygpti. Se cuantificó el número de criaderos, cuántos de estos estaban positivos y el número de pupas por depósito. Se realizó un análisis estadístico descriptivo y uno con métodos no paramétricos para determinar la productividad. RESULTADOS Se observó diferencia entre los depósitos encontrados en los cuatro barrios. El depósito más abundante en los cuatro barrios fueron las pocetas. No se detectó diferencia significativa entre la productividad de los depósitos de Santa Rita y Belén Rincón. Se observó diferencia significativa entre los depósitos de Robledo Aures y entre los de París con un p<0,05, siendo más productivos los tanques y las llantas, respectivamente. CONCLUSIÓN La cantidad, positividad y productividad de los depósitos en los cuatro barrios tuvo un comportamiento diferente, lo que indica que hay que conocer la dinámica propia de cada sector para poder establecer las estrategias de control vectorial más adecuadas.
