El cual cuenta con gran potencial turístico por su riqueza hídrica y gran diversidad de fauna y flora, y busca ser considerado como un territorio sostenible y amigable con la naturaleza, aprovechando el auge que tiene en la actualidad el desarrollo de actividades turísticas rurales, donde los turistas se involucran además en la cultura y tradiciones de las comunidades. La metodología utilizada fue a través de entrevistas con actores claves y habitantes rurales del Municipio, complementándolo con información recolectada de fuentes secundarias las cuales permitieron dar respuesta a los objetivos planteados. En los resultados obtenidos con la investigación, se encontró que el municipio tiene un gran porcentaje de participación comunitaria en iniciativas turísticas, las cuales tienen como objetivo en común la conservación de su territorio y la prestación de un servicio de turismo sostenible, que logre complementarse con otras actividades económicas como es el caso de la agricultura y así apoyar lo local y generar más alternativas económicas que permitan un desarrollo rural. |

Based on the case study of the municipality of San Rafael, Antioquia. This municipality has great tourism potential due to its water resources and great diversity of fauna and flora, and seeks to be considered as a sustainable and nature-friendly territory, taking advantage of the current boom in the development of rural tourism activities, where tourists are also involved in the culture and traditions of the communities. The methodology used was through interviews with key actors and rural inhabitants of the municipality, complemented with information collected from secondary sources which allowed to respond to the objectives.
