En este artículo informamos nuestra experiencia con diez pacientes, cuatro de ellas con proctocolitis actínica de las cuales tres tenían colostomía que había sido catalogada como "definitiva" y la otra paciente con hemorragia continua. Los otros seis pacientes presentaban tumores rectales bajos, uno con colostomía "definitiva”. Se discuten algunos aspectos puntuales de la técnica operatoria y de la evolución con el procedimiento donde destacamos una continencia adecuada en el 100% de los pacientes y una recaída de un tumor rectal bajo en una paciente (20%).

We report our experience with ten patients, five of them with actinic proctocolitis, of which 3 bore colostomies that had been defined as "definitive”; another patient had continued bleeding. The other five patient had tumors of the lower rectum, one with "definitive" colostomy.
