description RESUMEN: El objetivo del estudio fue describir las prácticas en Salud Ambiental y sus significados en líderes y lideresas del territorio de Bello Oriente, Medellín - Antioquia, 2023. La metodología de este estudio fue cualitativa con método etnográfico; la recolección de información se dio a través de 15 entrevistas etnográficas, 1 taller de mapeo comunitario y Observación Participante con 2 diarios de campo y 80 Escenarios de Observación. Los resultados permiten entender tres momentos en la apropiación del territorio como un espacio físico y simbólico. El primero de ellos es el territorio en donde se entretejen elementos históricos y procesos de territorialización percibidos por sus habitantes. Además, se enfrentan desafíos significativos en términos de infraestructura, servicios básicos, y presión sobre los bienes ambientales debido al crecimiento acelerado y la ineficiente planificación urbano-rural del territorio. El segundo momento aborda las prácticas y significados en Salud Ambiental, los cuales están influenciadas por el desplazamiento y las tradiciones culturales. Estas prácticas son tanto favorables como desfavorables e impactan el ambiente y, por ende, la salud de las personas. Y, el último momento, abarca la articulación y organización comunitaria la cual es una práctica clave para el desarrollo del territorio, requiriendo intervenciones genuinas y coordinadas que promuevan la autogestión y el empoderamiento de los habitantes. En conclusión, la relación entre líderes, lideresas, Salud Ambiental y territorio muestra que los significados ambientales van más allá del concepto tradicional de Salud Ambiental, destacando cómo las personas construyen y dan significado al espacio que habitan a través de sus prácticas.

The methodology of this study was qualitative with an ethnographic method; data collection was carried out through 15 ethnographic interviews, 1 community mapping workshop, and Participant Observation with 2 field journals and 80 Observation Scenarios. The results allow understanding three moments in the appropriation of the territory as a physical and symbolic space. The first of these is the territory where historical elements and territorialization processes perceived by its inhabitants are intertwined. Furthermore, significant challenges are faced in terms of infrastructure, basic services, and pressure on environmental goods due to the accelerated growth and inefficient urban-rural planning of the territory. The second moment addresses the practices and meanings in Environmental Health, which are influenced by displacement and cultural traditions. These practices are both favorable and unfavorable and impact the environment and, consequently, people's health. The last moment encompasses community articulation and organization, which is a key practice for the development of the territory, requiring genuine and coordinated interventions that promote self-management and the empowerment of the inhabitants.
