Evidencia previa sugiere que el agrupamiento es una condición que promueve el autocontrol y se hipotetiza que puede deberse a que realza una retroalimentación de propiedades molares del desempeño. Este estudio probó esta hipótesis sometiendo a algunos participantes a una condición con agrupamiento y retroalimentación, otros solo a la retroalimentación y otros al agrupamiento sin retroalimentación. Predijimos que, si lo necesario es el reforzador y no la agrupación de ensayos, se observaría autocontrol en la condición con solo retroalimentación, lo cual indicaría que la condición con agrupamiento sin retroalimentación no es necesaria. Por el contrario, si se observa autocontrol en la condición con agrupamiento sin retroalimentación y agrupamiento y retroalimentación, entonces la agrupación sí es necesaria para establecer la contingencia. Los resultados sugieren que la retroalimentación sí funciona como reforzador y que su papel es más potente cuando se combina con la agrupación. No obstante, se discute el papel del agrupamiento, pues en este estudio no fue condición suficiente. |

Previous evidence suggests that grouping is a condition that promotes selfcontrol and it is hypothesized that this may be because it enhances a molar property feedback from performance. This study tested this hypothesis by subjecting some participants to a condition with grouping and feedback, others to only feedback, and others to grouping without feedback. We predicted that if the reinforcer and not the grouping of trials is necessary, self-control would be observed in the feedback-only condition, indicating that the condition with grouping without feedback is unnecessary. Conversely, if self-control is observed in the condition with grouping without feedback and grouping and feedback, the grouping is necessary to establish contingency. The results suggest that feedback does function as a reinforcer and that its role is more potent when combined with grouping.
