RESUMEN: Este trabajo explora los procesos de construcción identitaria en mujeres autorreconocidas como negras o afrodescendientes en Valledupar, Colombia, a través del análisis de sus experiencias vividas y prácticas estéticas cotidianas. Utilizando un enfoque cualitativo, esta investigación examina cómo estas mujeres reafirman, desafían y negocian los significados culturales en torno a la negritud y la feminidad, empleando sus cuerpos y elecciones estéticas como espacios de agencia y resistencia. El estudio se basó en entrevistas semiestructuradas realizadas a ocho mujeres entre 18 y 70 años, en donde se priorizó la inclusión de mujeres que no se autoidentificaran como lideresas o miembros de organizaciones afro para capturar perspectivas auténticas de sus experiencias cotidianas. Por otro lado, el marco conceptual integra aportes de la antropología, estudios culturales, feminismo negro y estudios de la corporalidad, analizando los procesos de negociación identitaria desde una perspectiva interseccional y situada. Por ende, esta investigación busca visibilizar las formas de relación, representación y resignificación que las entrevistadas despliegan frente a los cánones hegemónicos de belleza y feminidad, buscando así, contribuir a la comprensión de las experiencias vividas por mujeres negras y sus formas de agenciamiento identitario, valorando sus saberes y aportes a la construcción de identidades diversas y plurales desde sus contextos socioculturales específicos en Valledupar. |

Using a qualitative, ethnographic approach, the research examines how these women reaffirm, challenge, and negotiate cultural meanings around blackness and femininity, using their bodies and aesthetic choices as spaces of agency and resistance. The study was based on semi-structured interviews with eight women between the ages of 18 and 70, prioritizing the inclusion of women who did not self-identify as leaders or members of Afro organizations to capture authentic perspectives of their everyday experiences. On the other hand, the conceptual framework integrates contributions from anthropology, cultural studies, black feminism, and body studies, analyzing the processes of identity negotiation from an intersectional and situated perspective.
