Description
Summary:Expected outcome. To analyze the facilitators and barriers perceived by community leaders in commune six of the city of Monteria in the prevention of dengue. Methodology. Descriptive cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. The population was made up of 43 community leaders from the neighborhoods of commune 6 in Monteria. A survey designed by the research group was applied as an instrument. The data were analyzed according to the descriptive statistical analysis. The completed study accomplished the ethical criteria for research in humans. Results. Most of the community leaders surveyed establish as the main facilitator; the availability of the community to all public services, and at the same time one of the barriers; the water reservoirs or reservoirs in the community. In addition, they establish the prevention of dengue as a responsibility of everyone; the government, the EPS, the community, the family, and each person. Conclusion. In this study, the facilitators and barriers in the prevention of dengue perceived by community leaders in commune number six of the neighborhoods selected for this investigation were explored. According to the knowledge about measures of the disease, the hundred percent of the population know what dengue is and the mode of transmission. Also, it was identified that not all of them know all the symptoms that occur during the period of the disease.
