Between 1910 and 2010, Colombia was characterized by having a democratic political regime with an extraordinary, simultaneous, very high levels of repression accompanied by two "cycles of exterminating repression": between 1940 and 1960 and since 1980, comparable only with the worst dictatorships of the region. |
