Summary: | The Raizal ethnic community located in the archipelago of San Andrés, Providence and Santa Catalina, located in the Caribbean Sea, is a culture that has inhabited this insular area for more than 400 years; This community stands out for the diversity of its miscegenation, coming from its Afro, Caribbean and European ancestors. The Raizales are an ethnic group that stands out in Colombia for its geographical location, its customs, culture, language and also because it is not part of the communities or indigenous or blacks of the country. This community seeks the conservation of their knowledge, their language, their territory, their customs, etc ...; as an element of resistance to the displacement of their culture by immigrants who arrived in the archipelago during the 20th century. The main economic activity of the island of San Andrés is based on the tourism that occurs with greater affluence in the northern part of the island. In order to increase the visibility of the Raizal culture, the integral intervention of the space adjacent to the baseball stadiums (Wellinghworth May) and Softball (Hollis Bent) existing in the execution area is proposed. |
