description	OBJETIVO: Analizar las investigaciones recientes sobre la lactancia materna y la alimentación en niños de 0 a 6 meses. METODOLOGÍA: Revisión narrativa de la literatura con búsqueda sistemática, se recurrió a las bases de datos PubMed, Google Académico y Science Direct, considerando artículos publicados entre 2016 y 2021, en inglés, portugués y español. De los cuales se tomaron 40 estudios para esta esta revisión. RESULTADOS: La búsqueda de las bases de datos arrojó 10.935 registros; de los cuales se descartaron 6.300 artículos que no contaban con los criterios de inclusión, se escogiendo 4.635 artículos debido a que cumplieron con los criterios de búsqueda. Y se finalizó dejando un total de 40 artículos que se incluyeron en la revisión. CONCLUSIONES: La lactancia materna es el alimento ideal para la nutrición, salud y desarrollo óptimo de los neonatos y lactantes, debido a que contiene todos los nutrientes y beneficios para su crecimiento, disminuye el riesgo de enfermedades y las tasas de morbilidad y mortalidad. Sin embargo, se ha comprobado que son mínimas las formas en las cuales se dan a conocer la importancia y los beneficios de la lactancia materna

METODOLOGÍA: Revisión narrativa de la literatura con búsqueda sistemática, se recurrió a las bases de datos PubMed, Google Académico y Science Direct, considerando artículos publicados entre 2016 y 2021, en inglés, portugués y español. De los cuales se tomaron 40 estudios para esta esta revisión. RESULTADOS: La búsqueda de las bases de datos arrojó 10.935 registros; de los cuales se descartaron 6.300 artículos que no contaban con los criterios de inclusión, se escogiendo 4.635 artículos debido a que cumplieron con los criterios de búsqueda. Y se finalizó dejando un total de 40 artículos que se incluyeron en la revisión. CONCLUSIONES: La lactancia materna es el alimento ideal para la nutrición, salud y desarrollo óptimo de los neonatos y lactantes, debido a que contiene todos los nutrientes y beneficios para su crecimiento, disminuye el riesgo de enfermedades y las tasas de morbilidad y mortalidad. Sin embargo, se ha comprobado que son mínimas las formas en las cuales se dan a conocer la importancia y los beneficios de la lactancia maternaOBJECTIVE: To analyze recent research on breastfeeding and feeding in children from 0 to 6 months. METHODOLOGY: Narrative literature review with systematic search, we resorted to PubMed, Google Scholar and Science Direct databases, considering articles published between 2016 and 2021, in English, Portuguese and Spanish. From which 40 studies were taken for this review. RESULTS: The search of the databases yielded 10,935 records; of which 6,300 articles that did not meet the inclusion criteria were discarded and 4,635 articles were selected because they met the search criteria.
