| Summary: | The research project ¨The history of an editorial world. Analysis of fashion covers from 1940 to 1999¨ was aimed at initiating an investigation and analysis of how the fashion magazines Harper's Baazar, Elle and Vogue reflected the different dynamics on their covers, such as the political, socio-economic context, role of the woman, cultural context, women's clothing, makeup, hairstyle, designers and icons of the proposed decades, to contribute in a positive way to fashion production, understand the importance of this field in the fashion industry, as it is a field that develops within the professional scope of costume design.The methodology that was developed allowed through different sources, both visual and written, to achieve a correct analysis of the covers of the Harper's Baazar, Elle and Vogue magazines, in different decades, both analysis tables and abstracts were used. to be able to organize the investigation in an appropriate way, identifying the important elements and events. A total of 713 visual and written sources were gathered, including covers already mentioned, photographs of the decades, documentaries, videos, books, theses, degree projects, articles, blogs, reviews, columns, on the subject. Afterwards, some conclusion sheets were made, highlighting the most important aspects of the research, the different analyzes that were carried out, representative moodboards and the covers analyzed, in order to have this project physically and materialize it in a historiographical source on the XX Century. |
