Summary:Nowadays the "Pagadiarios" have become synonymous of violence, where those who need to be financed quickly are extorted and manipulated to the point of entering into a vicious circle from which it is difficult to leave. Taking into account this problem, it is intended to identify the main causes by which the students of the San Buenaventura University sectional of Medellin, could resort to illegal funding offered by these “pagadiarios” because these criminal gangs seek to attract vulnerable populations such as young students. The research carried out is exploratory given that the resources to undertake more technical, scientific and academic work are insufficient, where it is observed that there are data difficult to collect. Likewise, by an investigation that proposes a solution to the credit system for the students of the San Buenaventura University, sectional of Medellin, catalogs to this investigation like exploratory. The results showed a positive response to the use of the "pagadiario" since most of the interviewees of the students assure that they do not use illegal loans because of their knowledge that it is an illegal act and that its consequences are serious. Finally, it can be concluded that the students of the San Buenaventura University have the advantage of their knowledge of how these lenders work, causing that they do not access to the “pagadiarios” and in turn the how the banking entities, playing a fundamental role in these scenarios to avoid that the people are indebted to non-legal entities, prefer to stay out.
