Summary:The purpose of this article is to expose elements of female crime concerning the risk and protective factors experienced by a person, which leads to committing an illicit act based on the triple criminal risk model of Illescas (2008) and implementing this at the same time to the specific case of Elizabeth Broderick with the aim of illustrating the importance of investigating the contextual and personal factors that contribute to the manifestation of disruptive or criminal behaviors, based on the review of documents aimed at understanding this phenomenon. In which it is highlighted that personality traits, upbringing patterns, social support and contextual components play a fundamental role when analyzing the causes of a certain action, which is why it is concluded that although research on this topic has gradually increased, there are still issues to be resolved and analyzed, which allow us to understand the cases of female crimes and their distinction from those committed by the male gender
