Summary:Different studies have shown that there are many materials derived from natural resources that can be used in sound engineering applications, these studies are aimed at finding alternative options that leave aside the use of traditional materials created from chemical processes that generate an unfavorable environmental impact. Colombian Guadua is a natural and sustainable element found in most regions of Colombia. It is a material with remarkable mechanical and constructive characteristics that make it a resource to be taken into account in diverse areas of application, including sound engineering. In the present document, an analysis of the acoustic feasibility of Guadua for the construction of acoustic boxes and waveguides of a linear array system with live sound applications is proposed. This analysis is based on a comparison of the system's performance with that of a traditional system built in MDF wood. This design is performed analytically, and the behavior of the system and the waveguides is verified using FEM simulation. The two systems are then constructed in Guadua and MDF to perform acoustic and vibroacoustic measurements that allow a comparison to be made using MATLAB software to determine whether Guadua is a viable material for these types of electroacoustic applications
