Summary: | OBJECTIVE: to identify the personal barriers to the practice of Physical Activity during the period in women of a Cartagena Foundation. METHOD This investigation is a study of quantitative approach, descriptive cross-sectional type. The population consisted of post-partum mothers, whose ages were in a range of 17 to 41 years, which were attached to the foundation. The mother was interviewed to know her level of education, marital status, occupation, level of schooling, socioeconomic stratum to which she belongs, as she was or was her puerperium period, whether or not she performed physical activity during it; If this was not done, we proceeded to identify the possible barriers to perform this practice, through the questionnaire "BarrierstoBeing Active Quiz" in its version is Spanish validated in Colombia. Taking into account the information provided by the prenatal control sheets, weight and height were determined before and during pregnancy. Weight and height variables were obtained after weighing and sizing after pregnancy. Once this information was obtained, the data were entered in a database in Excel, then they were graphed in this same program in such a way that the frequency and percentage of each of the variables studied were interpreted. RESULTS: The average age of the puerperal mothers was 27 years, these were divided into three groups, 17-24 years, 25-32 years and 33-41 years of age. Group 2 had the highest number of women who did not perform Physical Activity (FA) compared to the other two groups, but in the same way had the highest number of women that if they performed FA, the group of 33-41 years did not have any A woman who was a woman who performed AF, on the contrary, it happened in the group of younger age of 17-24 years where all performed AF. This means that puerperal women with less age are more active than more active women than those who are older. |
