¿Qué necesidades de espacio público tiene Santo Domingo Savio I: La Silla, La Brisa, La Falda?

This research work consists of the description and analysis of the current conditions of the application of an environmental and socio-spatial system that took place in Commune 1 of Medellin, based on the spatial and environmental competences of the sector. This within a pre-established area by the people who carried out the research work at the University of San Buenaventura.The research problem is the needs of public space that Santo Domingo Savio I has: sectors La Silla, La Brisa, La Falda, within the chosenneighborhood, the analysis helps to design strategies that improve the quantity and quality of public space, such as Ecoparque-Santo Domingo Savio I, Espacio Público Adaptado a la Ladera (E.P.A.L)The research was carried out based on the case study methodologies, obtaining information from various sources such as the planning of maps of the sector and observations that helped a complete analysis of the Santo Domingo Savio I neighborhood sectors (La Silla, La Brisa and La Falda). Four variables are analyzed throughout the research that are(1)To determine the need to preserve the green areas of the Santo Domingo Savio I hill in the commune 1 of Medellín.(2)To articulate the ecological structure.(3)To guarantee the improvement of the quality of life of its inhabitants.(4)To take advantage of neighborhood improvement lots.By means of the analysis of the 4 pre-established variables, the following results were obtained, the project in its totality would contribute 14,596 m2 of public space in constructed and not constructed area, which is equivalent to an increase of 0.12m2/inhabitant, of public space for commune 1; conformed by: 2. 046 m2 of new and restored roads, paths and platforms and 12,550 m2 of micro spaces that favored the creation of areas: outdoor gyms, mini theater, community action, forestry/agricultural workshops, among others, contributing to the increase in quality of life.The above offers tools, which help the authorities to obtain a vision of the current conditions of public space in Santo Domingo SavioI neighborhood sectors (La Silla, La Brisa, and La Falda) and the increase of the indicator offered by the present project.
