They were completed the MINI International Neuropsyquiatric Interview, the Young Schemes Questionnaire -YSQ-, the Core Beliefs Questionnaire for Personality Disorders -CCE-TP-, the Inventory of Automatic Thoughts -IPA-, and the Coping Strategies Questionnaire -EEC-M-. The cognitive profile of GAD comprised patterns of abandonment, mistrust/abuse, uncompromising standards and insufficient self-control/self-discipline. Associated personality disorders were dependent, paranoid, avoidant, schizotypal, borderline and antisocial. Cognitive distortions were filtering or selective abstraction (low scores), and significantly higher scores in polarized thinking, overgeneralization, interpretation of thought, catastrophic vision, fallacy of control, emotional reasonin g and fallacy of change. Coping strategies were high aggressive reaction, expression of coping difficulty, denial, and low positive reappraisal.

Se realizó un análisis comparativo entre el perfil cognitivo de quienes fueron diagnosticados con TAG (69 adultos) y un grupo control (69 adultos). Se aplicaron la Entrevista Neuropsiquiátrica Internacional -MINI-, el Cuestionario de Esquemas de Young -YSQ-, el Cuestionario de Creencias Centrales de Trastornos de la Personalidad -CCE-TP-, el Inventario de Pensamientos Automáticos -IPA- y el Cuestionario de Estrategias de Afrontamiento -EEC-M-. El perfil cognitivo del TAG se caracterizó por esquemas de abandono, desconfianza/abuso, estándares inflexibles e insuficiente autocontrol/autodisciplina. Los trastornos de la personalidad asociados fueron los de dependencia, paranoide, evitación, esquizotípico, límite y antisocial. Las distorsiones cognitivas fueron filtraje o abstracción selectiva (puntuaciones bajas), y significativamente altas puntuaciones en pensamiento polarizado, sobregeneralización, interpretación del pensamiento, visión catastrófica, falacia de control, razonamiento emocional y falacia de cambio. Las estrategias de afrontamiento fueron la alta reacción ag resiva, expresión de dificultad de afrontamiento, negación, así como baja en reevaluación positiva.
