Description
Summary:This project aims to the development of an algorithm for the measurement and normal- ization of audio levels on the national television. This algorithm is intended to be a tool for the user by helping him leveling loudness for a number of contents aired by television channels. The algorithm was developed in MATLAB software based upon the ITU-R BS.1770-4 & EBU R128 recommendations for the normalization of audio levels, based on loudness measurements. An objective comparison was made with a wide sorts of plugins of the audio industry, ratifying the algorithm’s operation through the retrieval of more relevant parameters. A VST plugin was implemented onto the JUCE platform based on the aforementioned algorithm, this "TV Normalizer" plugin has a GUI and a user’s guide. The developed algorithm carried out an accurate loudness measurement of the obtained audio samples. After applying the normalization process to the sample, a decrease was caused by the loudness levels difference by changes between channels and programs of a same channel.
