Summary:Transiting in the environmental issues is to recognize that just as efforts have been developed in the Colombian educational system in order to involve an ethical, aesthetic and responsible thinking with the environment, a fragmented treatment of the knowledge about the environmental problem also remains valid. This factor rests on the disciplinary knowledge of the natural sciences and is reflected in the instrumental handling that has been installed as a requirement of an educational project for institutional management. In this sense, ecosophy is considered as the possibility of thinking about education from a perspective of environmental sensitivity as a transdisciplinary practice that allows us to explore the realities of the environment with a critical eye, invites the defragmentation of environmental knowledge and promotes different understandings of the sense of habitancy, assuming an ecosophical thinking as a life practice. For this reason, a qualitative research has been developed with an exploratory scope through the focus group methodology specifically with rural teachers and students, which makes it easy to understand the dynamics of educational and social phenomena for the transformation of practices from a self-critical analysis; the progress can be related to the development of discussion spaces about the ways of conceiving the environment in the field of the formation of a planetary citizenship.
