Summary:This research examines the phenomena of the Manual of Coexistence as an element which proposes to mediate the numerous conflicts which arise in school among the different actors within an educational community. A short genealogy is hereby projected on the significance of the Manual as disciplinary regulation, under the name which defines it: from the time of its appearance to the present date. The article is a product of the research project called: "Conflict and Symbolic Mediation in School Children who come from Socially Shunned Urban Sectors: the Case of Cali’s 20th Commune".
