Summary: | This academic investigation consolidates from the interest to investigate about Summerhill as a pedagogical method in modern era, this method has been little tackled in teacher guild, in addition, can contribute from its conceptions about education, teaching and teachers role. So, it's done a State of the art about theorist constructs concerning Summerhill pedagogical purpose or School for freedom, in local, national and global context; traversed by historical-hermeneutic paradigm, this paradigm allows understand the events in time and space in which they ariseas well as the people interpretation. In this perspective, it’s realized a documental review from which it's arises four categories: Theoretical reference, organization, values and legacy. Each of these, have respective subcategories which guide to the conclusion that Summerhill set up as a projection of personality, dreams, knowledges and lifestyle of its founder.
