Description
Summary:In the metropolitan area of the aburrá valley there has been a significant demographic increase, which has made necessary an urban growth. Therefore one story buildings are been demolished to welcome vertical edifications, demolition activities generate approximate 10400 ton/day of debris construction and demolition waste. On the other hand, targeting to meet the raw materials demand generated for the construction industry, the urban mining has increased, affecting the soil in several different ways such as the loss of vegetal coverage, landscaping and others. For this reason, during this research, soils degraded by urban mining were supplemented with organic and inorganic waste and afterwards the restoration potential was evaluated. In order to accomplished this objective a factorial 32 with two factors experimental designed orange peel and RCD was conducted. These factors were added to the soil degraded by quarry mining and the vegetal specie Leucaena Leucocephala was used as indicator. At the end of this process through a physics and chemical analysis, height – diameter and respirometry, was found that the best vegetal establishments was present in the 6(A50, B0) and 7(A25B0) treatments, which showed a bigger growth in regard to its height (13,04 cm) and diameter (5,4 cm). It is important to mention that these treatments presented the greater amount or RCD and no addition of organic matter.
