Summary: | The SCADA system (supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is a set of specialized hardware and software to be able to communicate, control and monitor various field devices, as well as remotely control the entire process. In the following project a SCADA system was implemented to the adiabatic humidifier equipment, which is located at the University of San Buenaventura in the Unit operations laboratory, in order to optimize the system of the equipment operations. In this project the hardware was selected and an automation system was implemented, for the control and monitoring of the process variables of the adiabatic humidifier equipment. Subsequently, the respective calibration and validation were carried out, where the velocity of the air, the temperature of the cooling coil and the electrical resistance was varied, preserving the technique used for the calculation of the transfer coefficient of Mass (Ky) of the thesis that was designed initially the Adiabatic Humidifier Equipment. In the same way, the fundamental concepts of heat transfer and mass transfer were taken into account, and manuals (operation and maintenance) were also developed in order to operate the equipment in the best way and to extend its useful life. Finally, after the selection and implementation, it was possible to carry out the tests for the coefficient to study satisfactorily, the mass transfer coefficient (Ky) was chosen to study since the adiabatic humidifier equipment was designed to Calculate only this parameter, varying the air velocity, coil temperature and electrical resistance electricity |
