Description
Summary:In Colombia, there is a wide variety of offers in terms of Social Communication programs, in order to strengthen the educational processes in the field of education researchers took as a reference this situation to undertake a research process whose objective was to identify the role of ICT in the integral formation of students, in four Catholic IES with social communication programs, for empowerment and application to the undergraduate of the same denomination in the San Pablo University Foundation -UNISANPABLO. The methodology was framed in the mixed research paradigm, which applies the two approaches: qualitative and quantitative. The sample was represented by 342 students and 5 teachers. The survey technique was used with a structured questionnaire that was answered by students from four Catholic IES. The results show that teachers warn about the danger that students face when facing the immense sea of information offered by the different platforms, so one of the most important challenges facing HEIs is the recognized "digital divide" ", Not only in what has to do with access to technology by students, but in technological knowledge on the part of teachers. The conclusions lead us to think of UNISANPABLO in a curriculum that forms a fully competent professional, so that when entering the workplace is an agent of social change, given the complexity of reporting today
