According to the report of the World Economic Forum, Colombia ranks 61st in the productivity index, due to the high number of working hours and precarious remuneration causing extremely poor working conditions, psychologically and physically affecting employees, who are torn between a sustainable life and poverty. This article describes the development of Burnout and the impact on the quality of life of personnel working in the customer service area in Colombia through a descriptive analysis between 2000 and 2019 using as a methodology the review of bibliographic references of scientific articles on this topic. The literature review provides studies on the causes and consequences of this phenomenon on the quality of life of workers between the ages of 18 and 27 who work in the customer service area, establishing as the main causes, the pressure exerted on their experience work and life, being the factors associated with job desertion, the increase in social and economic poverty and, above all, in the decrease of innovative development and entrepreneurship. |

El presente artículo describe el desarrollo del Burnout y la incidencia en la calidad de vida del personal que trabaja en el área de servicio al cliente en Colombia a través de un análisis descriptivo entre los años 2000 y 2019 utilizando como metodología la revisión de referencias bibliográficas de artículos científicos referente a esta temática.
