El objetivo de la presente investigación fue identificar el perfil neurocognitivo y realizar un rastreo emocional de pacientes con diagnóstico de la enfermedad de Niemann Pick tipo C (NP-C) identificados en Colombia. Como estudio descriptivo, se tuvo en cuenta la participación de 9 pacientes diagnosticados con la enfermedad (NP-C) de los cuales 5 pertenecieron al grupo de niños y 4 pertenecieron al grupo de adultos, con edades entre 8 a 30 años; se aplicó un protocolo de evaluación neuropsicológica que consistió en explorar las funciones cognitivas, atención, memoria, funciones ejecutivas (Neuropsi Atención y Memoria) flexibilidad mental (Wisconsin), lenguaje expresivo y comprensivo (subpruebas de ENI2 y Barcelona) y rastreo emocional con pruebas de depresión y ansiedad (BDI, STAI en adultos y pruebas como CDI y CMAS-R en niños). Los hallazgos indican alteración global de las funciones cognitivas con desempeños bajos para la edad de los participantes y con variaciones en el componente emocional. |

Los hallazgos indican alteración global de las funciones cognitivas con desempeños bajos para la edad de los participantes y con variaciones en el componente emocional.The objective of this research was to identify the neurocognitive profile and to do an emotional screening of patients diagnosed with Niemann Pick type C (NP-C) disease identified in Colombia. As a descriptive study, the participation of 9 patients between 8 and 30 years of age diagnosed with the disease (NP-C) was taken into account, 5 members belonged to the group of children and 4 members belonged to the group of adults; to whom a protocol of neuropsychological evaluation was applied , exploring cognitive functions such as attention, memory, executive functions (Neuropsi, attention and memory), mental flexibility (Wisconsin), expressive and comprehensive language (subtests of ENI2 and Barcelona) and emotional screening with tests of depression and anxiety (BDI, STAI in adults and CDI and CMAS-R in children).
