The theoretical background needed is identified. A methodology was determined and the results of its application in the regular course of ODE’s are presented. It was found that the proposed methodology is adequate. The students exposed to this methodology interiorized the related concepts and were able to solve linear and not linear first order ODE’s analyticallyEn el presente artículo se propone una metodología que permite la incorporación de la teoría de los grupos de LIE, en relación con las Ecuaciones Diferenciales Ordinarias (EDO’s) de primer orden, a nivel de pregrado en cursos de ingeniería. Se plantea una discusión sobre los fundamentos teóricos del método de los grupos de LIE en la solución de ecuaciones diferenciales de primer orden y se identifican los presaberes necesarios para una adecuada enseñanza del método a este nivel.
